Once melted and coated the roasted pig, er, I mean sausage, fluff in some white powder. Preferably flour and not cocaine due to inflation and budgetary reasons. Stir and coat the meat for about 45 seconds to form the base of the roux. Also call someone at Burning Man and say the word “roux” a few times on the phone to see if they start crying. It's about 9 litres, and with some home made Soda Bread, should make approx 15 meals for 2, which I'll freeze for healthy ready meals.

Batch cooking makes it easier for me and my partner. I prep & cook over 2 days, & then I've contributed to the household. Then they don't have to think about it, they just get a container out of the freezer on any given night, & just need to heat up & make pasta.

It's my partner's birthday tomorrow and I'm making some of his favourite food, Cabonara, and also pancakes.
Only #CookingWithME isn't straight-forward and although I did the prep earlier in the day, halfway through cooking the Cabonara this evening I got really unstable standing at the stove and had to lie down, and therefore I had to let him take over.
So tomorrow I'm going to prep the pancake batter but we'll cook them together.
Ugh, it's so bloody frustrating. 😫
The pasta sauce all boxed up for freezing.
It ended up being 29 meals. Each container here holds enough pasta sauce for 2 people.
Because I find cooking so energy draining, my partner and I have a system when I save up some spoons and then spend a day batch cooking items such as pasta sauce, curries, stews and soups. Then he does the defrosting and cooking each evening, adding pasta, rice etc, as appropriate and serves up.
This is a shedload (c. 10 litres) of Mushroom Pasta Sauce. With all the #Garlic 😊
It includes:
30 medium-large garlic cloves
16 tins of tinned tomatoes
A mountain of thick cut mushrooms
Lashings of lightly fried pine nuts
Several handfuls of olives
A couple of bunches of freshly picked Golden Oregano
It will serve c. 30 individual meals.

I love this little blender. Massively reduces spoons needed to chop garlic (and ginger). 30 cloves of garlic chopped in seconds.
Making a big batch of Halloumi & Cauliflower curry today, adding in some French beans and Courgettes from the garden.
The cooking part is easiest, it's the preparation that takes the most time. Currently having a rest before putting it the 10l pot. Just cleaning and cutting up veg is tiring. But the end result makes it worth it, as it should make up approx 24 meals.
