I don't usually suffer from lack of motivation but today I seem to have zero.
So other than a couple of CoTEch Digital* calls and a catch-up with someon this afternoon, I'm leaning into it and playing some FIFA 2023.
Open Data Services Co-operative is growing.. we will be recruiting a number of roles over the coming weeks to months, from operations specialists to data analysts. Be the first to hear about our new roles as the ads go live by joining our jobs mailing list: https://opendataservices.coop/jobs #coop #cooplife #coopjobs
So the city co-op federation has an award for if your age + the amount of time you've lived in co-op housing >= 100.
I don't even add up to 50, but I feel all the board meetings I've sat in have added on a solid 50 years. I should apply

My work days are Tuesday, Thursday and Friday. At the moment, Tuesday begins around 3pm on Monday and ends around 11am on Wednesday. #cooplife https://rhiaro.co.uk/2022/12/work-days-tuesday
I have three broody hens that I call The Sister Wives, because all three sat on eggs together and hatched five chicks. Tonight I noticed the most motherly of them was sitting on not only the five chicks, but the other two sisters, as well. 😆🥰

Posted 45 photos: A sunset walk in the hills around Wortley. Definitely no getting lost, confrontations with cows, or strange men burning logs. Found an inkycap, and left it to go splat to make some mushroom art, before redistributing it in the Wortley Hall grounds.
The next day, clear skies for sunrise, and I had front row seats. Into Sheffield for a fantastic brunch at South Street Kitchen. And then the train ride home. #cooplife https://rhiaro.co.uk/2022/05/photos-wortley-2
Posted 28 photos: Last week's Co-op meeting at Wortley Hall: Checked into a room bigger than my flat, including a bathroom with ceiling arches, and a view over Wortley Hall's fantastic grounds. Day one of the CoGM, with some team building and strategic thinking, lunch with aggressive ducks, plus a long walk through the fields in the afternoon. #cooplife https://rhiaro.co.uk/2022/05/photos-wortley
Once again my #coop is hiring: https://app.beapplied.com/apply/bx6k4sjaxe
We do open data stuff for public good. This role in particular is focussed on beneficial ownership data analysis and standards development, but internally there's a lot of flexibility about what you work on and we have a variety of ongoing projects. It's particularly fun to do transparency and anti-corruption stuff though.
We have flat pay, are all remote, mostly UK-based, mostly part time, extremely flexi, and always looking for new ways to improve our wellbeing.
There's a birdsite thread with more info here: https://twitter.com/opendatacoop/status/1450787984706506755 (which I might recreate on here later).
Colleagues who offer to hold a meeting for you so you can get on with other stuff instead are precious indeed. <3 #cooplife https://rhiaro.co.uk/2021/09/colleagues-who
The #coop I work with is #hiring.
We do things with open data for public good and social change.
Equal pay (£40k/pa), flat structure, remote work. Flexible working with part time options. Lots of benefits.
Happy to answer questions here another way (https://rhiaro.co.uk/contact)

That feeling when you're in a non-hierarchical co-op and you've been given a mandate to do something that potentially affects everyone and there's no-one to sign off or approve it. No-one to defer to. You just have to decide how you're doing it and get on with it. It's good but also scary. #cooplife https://rhiaro.co.uk/2020/08/feeling-when
I worked way too much this week, and got up at 0630 to finish some stuff before today's Co-op meetings, so to enforce taking the rest of the afternoon off... my building's wifi went out. Then the water.. and then the power.
I have started a new crochet project. And went to the beach. #cooplife https://rhiaro.co.uk/2020/06/5ee31014af3e2
Open Data Services Co-op usually get together in person quarterly. We weren't able to this month, for obvious reasons. But we replicated our usual style of gathering online this afternoon, and it was positive and productive and I ended the day crylaughing with my colleagues. Even though we spend tons of our times in video calls on a normal day, somehow the video call replacement of our in person gathering still stood on its own as a special event. I'm super appreciative of my colleagues who sorted the agenda and planned and facilitated sessions, and just in general of all of them <3 #cooplife https://rhiaro.co.uk/2020/04/coop
We're having a few more and more intense Open Data Services Co-op meetings than usual at the moment, but they're all about how we can best look after each other under the current circumstances. #cooplife https://rhiaro.co.uk/2020/03/meetings
Week in review: 20 - 16 Jan. London to Edinburgh via #cooplife stuff in Manchester (and lunch with @maloki), then a long weekend in Dunkeld & Birnham #travel https://rhiaro.co.uk/2020/01/week-in-review-4
Do you like data? Do you like standards? Do you like public good? Do you like co-operating and flat org structures and a good work life balance and not just chasing $$? Open Data Services Co-op are hiring: non-dev techie data standards roles. Fully remote. Check it out. https://opendataservices.coop/jobs/ #coop #cooplife
I've spent the week updating the Co-op Index Tool which meant working on Atlantic Daylight Savings Time in meeting with the team at St Mary's in Halifax. Dorian kept me from being their in person, so I traded 2-3 travel days for waking up at 4:00 am and working until 1 pm. #cooplife
#Cooplife is having my worker rights outrage-o-meter cranked up to Extremely Sensitive at all times, forgetting that opendataservices.coop policies are not universal or even close to normal anywhere in the world, and wanting to burn it all down every time I hear even the faintest hint of a company trying to take advantage of an employee. And the employee doesn't really think they're being take advantage of and is trying to tiptoe around the situation so the abuse dosen't get worse. https://rhiaro.co.uk/2019/06/cooplife
