Since this summer I'm recovering from top surgery, I don't really plan to embark on a trip, even within Italy. At this point I'm considering using the money to buy a ticket for a big festival next year: #Wacken or #Hellfest mostly... any other European #metalfestival that might be worth it? #Copenhell maybe?

#copenhell is not puristic when it comes to defining #metal -
which is good in the case of bands like Shaam Larein, less good when they sign boring mainstream rock bands.

Speaking of things that would be awesome, I saw this giant metal door at #Copenhell and was super disappointed that it wasn’t the entrance to the festival. I mean, come on! Just look at it. It wasn’t even technically on the festival area, I think (I’d gotten slightly lost).

While I’m getting used to being home again, here’s a few more highlights from #Copenhell. This was #DefLeppard, which is not normally my jam in particular, but I needed a break and it seemed like a great opportunity to catch a view of the main stage with a big crowd.

Also, I found myself imagining the painting of the wolf being just a curtain. Now *that* would be one hell of a stage.

Now that I'm home from #Copenhell (and feeling much cleaner 😆 ) I notice that the sound on the videos I've posted is worse than on my phone, probably due to Mastodon's compression. Not that videos caught on a phone from within the crowd is ever going to be super great, much less capture the magic of being there yourself, but still.

I'll probably post a few more highlights, now that I don't have to worry about my battery.

This was right before #GunsNRoses, and talk about a contrast … holy shit. I was all fired up after Spiritbox and looking forward to watching some real legends, but I guess some things are better left in the past. Respect to the band for still playing after all these years, but Axl … I’m sorry, but those poor songs didn’t deserve to be butchered by that helium squeak of a faltering voice. It was deeply, deeply sad and actually painful to sit through 3 hours of. Such a letdown. #Copenhell

Holy Rolley! I’m still trying to come down from watching #Spiritbox at #Copenhell. Wow! Speechless.

I even regret filming this, because that breakdown at the end took me completely unprepared while I wasn’t paying attention. I thought “oh, a song I don’t know as well, I’ll just film a bit then…” Obvious mistake 😆

Also love to see the little kid on his parent’s shoulders with the plastic guitar. So good to see so many of the new metal generation out here rocking #Metal #Music
