And since it's a relatively big case that's almost exclusively stuffed with a huge passive heatsink, it's completely #fanless and #silent.

The only disadvantage is that aside from a single M.2 B-Key SSD slot, two internal USB 2.0 ports a 2nd DDR3L-SODIMM, 4x USB 2.0 and 2x USB 3.0 on the outside there's no expandability.

Sadly unless your T61 has a #Core2Duo upgraded it won't run #amd64 / #64bit distros, so you won't be able to use @tails / #Tails on it...

Otherwise do it like @fuchsiii and upgrade the #T61 beyond reasonable specs with something like a 2TB SSD and use it as #WindowsXP or #Windows7 #retro machine...

Brauchte ne alten #Rechner zum Testen. Auf‘em Dachboden fündig geworden. Zwar ein #Core2Duo aber 32GB RAM nur die #Platte dreht sich. Habe ganz vergessen wie laut die waren. Naja die #Raptor #Festplatte ist nicht mehr die jüngste und war nie so richtig leise 😁 Ein Hoch auf #Flashspeicher

My fourth #laptop is this #compaq business beast rocking a #core2duo and 4 GB of RAM. It's woefully underpowered but it's built like a tank and the keyboard is amazing. I could write a dozen more novels on this thing. I found this at a thrift store during the pandemic for $10 and I used it to work from home until I was able to upgrade to something that could run Zoom without exploding. It's currently running good old #debian with the #mate desktop. This is a keeper.
