How do I find the IP for CoreDNS to configure as a DNS resolver for PiHole?
The pod IP can change. Is there a special IP for Kubernetes DNS?
Oh, my first contribution to #coredns were merged! Uses #dnsflagday 2020 value for #EDNS0 finally.
Filled quite lot of bugs to #coredns in 2 days. That server produces strange #DNS replies, often against RFC. Unfortunately it is not tech preview like #systemd-resolved, but widely deployed in #openshift production. Hope it's conformance can improve fast.
#coredns #dns #systemd #openshift
Yesterday we have found relatively major breakage of #EDNS0 usage in #coredns. Unlike traditional implementations like #bind9 it doesn't use it by default. As a core #dns component in #openshift, it is surprising how badly 15+ years old RFC were understood.
#edns0 #coredns #bind9 #dns #openshift
#DNS in #Kubernetes is pretty straightforward. However, there are times when using a custom or fake DNS name internally can come in handy. Today I'll show how we can hande that with #CoreDNS in an on-prem #K3s cluster. https://freshbrewed.science/2023/03/21/kubedns.html
#k3s #coredns #kubernetes #dns
I have a docker container for CoreDNS on my raspberry pi that won’t restart automatically after a reboot. It has the RestartPolicy set to always. Other containers managed by docker-compose do start up again, but this container is stand alone. Why would this be? It’s very frustrating!
#docker #coredns #raspberrypi #selfhosted
Been having some fun with nice technologies today.
Have migrated from Bind9 to coredns as the authoritative dns server for my domains.
It runs in k3s and has beed deployed using qbec.
Noice:)
BTW, Jsonnet is really fun to use.
#bind9 #coredns #dns #kubernetes #k3s #qbec #Jsonnet
