Inflows into Lake Powell are projected to be 117% of average during spring runoff due to heavy snowpack in the Rocky Mountains. Snow may provide a temporary boost to major reservoirs in the basin, but will not fix the Southwest’s supply-demand imbalance.

There has been no consensus among Colorado River Basin states on an agreement to cut use.
Jan. 31 is the deadline for , , Nevada, New Mexico, Colorado, Utah and Wyoming to come to an agreement or the federal government could impose the cuts.

Lake Powell has fallen below its target elevation of 3,525 feet to one of its lowest recorded levels since it began filling in the 1960s. was at 3,524.98 feet on Dec. 27, per Bureau of Reclamation CSV data.
