From manifesto to Programme for Government to delivery. This year, almost 8,000 people who already called Ireland their home were able to legalise their status under a life-changing, once-in-a-generation scheme first proposed by the Green Party in our general election manifesto.
Allowing people to generate their own power and sell excess energy back to the grid means every household and farm in Ireland can participate in our solar revolution. ☀️
In 2020 we committed to making this a reality, and in Government we've delivered it. #GreensInGovernment

This potentially worrying jump comes less than two months after Green Party leader Eamon Ryan brought in new legislation, effectively banning smoky fuels in efforts to curb Ireland's pollution.
Despite these new laws being introduced, air quality monitoring website PurpleAir shows that Cork city continues to have particularly poor air quality as a result of high pollution levels.
