"There was a transformative era in the 80s that was called the golden era. Many pioneers had to reluctantly pass the torch to the newer more lyrical generation. The Bronx transition was led by BDP but there was another group from the Bronx who left their mark on the game was the Ultra Magnetic MCs. They deserve credit because not only were they making noise it was during a time when it was hard to stand out. Many artists faded during this era. The competition was too step and the quality of music was too good. The strong survive sums it up perfectly. Ultra Magnetic rose to the occasion. Ultra Magnetic beats where loud and hard and people gravitated to it. I remember they came to Queens Bridge and performed in the park back in the 80s I got to experience first hand what they were capable of. Salute to Ultra and if you never heard them this album cover I posted is where you start. One of their members also has music out now under aliases such as Dr Octagon, Dr Dooom, etc his name is Kool Keith.
