Built a #corsirosenthalbox for my kid’s class. Should come in handy with the present heat wave, and for wildfire smoke next Spring.

Used a “Honeywell TurboForce Portable Air Circulating Box/Floor Fan” as it is noticeably quieter than the typical box fan. Only drawback is the speed settings are on the back! I set it on low and taped the fan on the box. Plug it in and it is on.

Is it possible I could retool a #CorsiRosenthalBox against a window and tape down a plastic seal along the rest of the open window to bring fresh air into my apartment without bringing in #WildfireSmoke? Has anyone tried this or have an idea of how this would best work?

@vga256 there are diffenrt ways to build them now, as people have experimented. If you follow Jim Rosenthal on twitter….look for the #corsirosenthalbox hashtag. People send him photos of their innovations. He posts them with detailed instructions. By the way, they are also a Covid19 mitigation. Used w a mask they are part of the “Swiss cheese model”. Some schools are using them, less Covid i hear. Double your fun.

Anyone have any experience with a #corsirosenthalbox starting to give off a faint electric/smoke smell? No actual smoke, just the smell. Mine has started doing this the past two days. The filters are dirty and do need replacing, but I don’t know if it’s the fan giving off the smell or the fact the filters are getting dirty. I traced back some of the exchanges you had with totally and wilfully ignorant people who didn't (want to?) understand why you call out the #abelism in action at #anarchy2023 as well as their total lack of #Covid protections. No surprise that you feel such a deep disappointment with people. Apart from #mask rules, they could have arranged air purifiers (like the cheap DIY #CorsiRosenthalBox).
