#Cortisone really helps ease rheumatoid #Arthritis, but its side effects are concerning.

A #CharitéBerlin study now reveals: when taken in low doses, blood pressure does not increase even after a two-year treatment. Moreover, the weight gain often negatively associated with this medication is moderate, at around one kilogram (~2.2 pounds).

My point of view:

You don't stop anyone's hydrocortisone if you aren't an endocrinologist.

Add prednisolone on top if needed, decrease the pred dose by 5mg if you want but that is unlikely to matter. Do not stop hydrocortisone when you start prednisolone, it just adds a risk nobody really wants.

Had a very bad dry #cough the last 2 weeks. Doctor said "Can't do much but up the #cortisone". Inhaled simple NaCl solution yesterday with an ultrasonic #vaporizer. Coughed up a gross lump of ... I don't know what that was ... tonight and now the cough is gone. Just sitting there and being able to breathe in peace feels so satisfying. #Asthma sucks, but I found another way to cope I guess. ✌🏻
