Martha Argerich just recorded the Franck Violin again with Renard Capuçon. This is her 5th official recording: two more with violin (Gitlis and Perlman), one transcribed for cello (Maisky), and one for flute (Galway). She must love it though she calls it the “Franckenstein.” She has a way of making it feel composed on the spot. My all-time favorite recording of the piece is the first (acoustic) recording by Alfred Cortot and Jacques Thibaud from 1923. Only 99 years ago. #Franck #Argerich #Cortot
