I'm so hyped.

@array @mobiuscog NixOS is the only distro that lead me to think about switching. But after trying it out in a VM, I had a similar experience to yours. I don't want to waste time on long configuration for each project. I get the idea behind it and I like it, but it is not for me.

The next distro that I would try out would be Rust based. Looking towards the release of #COSMICDE :ferris:

Turns out: You can still break your #silverblue installation if you apply brute force (by trying to install #cosmicde via systemd sysextension built in a fedora distrobox, although that probably doesn't matter ...)

Recovering from that via live system was a bit harder than anticipated, had to actually find out where my `etc` was hiding so I could remove the `systemd-sysext.service` symlink to make my system boot again ...

I learned my lesson: Use a VM next time (or switch to #ublue 🤔).

@kasesag nice!! I flip back and forth from fedora and Pop!_OS. More of a gnome user at the moment. Although @system76 is making so pretty slick blog posts about the upcoming #cosmicde.

@slowbyrne I'm going to be running #popos in a vm so I can play with #cosmicde as well

@electrona if you are still exploring, I've seen great things about NixOS. I've also switched from #fedora back to #popos so that I can follow and possibly contribute to the new #cosmicde. The new tiling is looking pretty slick already.

I installed @regolith desktop atop @pop_os_official tonight so that I could have an #i3wm session in addition to the default one. I’m pleasantly surprised at how nice it seems on first pass, though using it for work tomorrow will be the real test. For anyone wondering why I’d use a #RegolithLinux session instead of Pop’s tiling, it’s because I’ve found the it to be fairly buggy. I’m hoping the new #CosmicDE fixes this, but for now it’s as good a reason as any to try i3 out

I am not an #ubuntu hater nor have an appetite for Arguing their Snap stuff. But all I want for my summer birthday is #pop_os #COSMICDE running on #debian #bookworm #netinstall from an official #system76 install script. Bookworm is in such great shape and cosmic is my favorite UI.

Wait #CosmicDE will feature it's own editor? (as in VSC, not Kate/gEdit) :blobfoxhyper2:
