Gravitational waves, the ripples in space-time caused by massive cosmic events, could reveal the nature of dark matter, the mysterious substance that makes up most of the matter in the universe. A new study shows that gravitational waves can be used to probe the properties of dark matter particles, such as their mass and interactions. The study also proposes new ways to detect gravitational waves from dark matter sources.
