Every now and then, I remember that the #CounciloftheEU and the #EuropeanCouncil include the government of a kleptocracy, that one #EU member state is officially no longer a #democracy and everyone just shrugs it off as we ignore what the Council(s) are, do, decide, etc.

Note that the vote in the #EuropeanParliament already took place and that the amendment was - unfortunately - approved: https://www.politico.eu/article/veggie-burgers-allowed-but-dairy-alternatives-face-restrictions/
Now the EU governments can still oppose this in the negotiations, but I wouldn't get my hopes up too high, given the political colour of most governments.
