JOE MASON
Joe Mason And His One Man Band
1973 Canada pressing

A fun Sunday afternoon thrift find today!
I bought this because of the cover. It just looked fun. And it is.
14 songs (all of them 2.5 - 3 mins long) of fun country folk where
Joe plays six instruments simultaneously!
I’ll probably spin it once or twice more, then throw it in a frame and hang it up in my studio. I just really love that cover!

I absolutely love this love ballad written during a massive rainstorm in Pretoria, South Africa. My friend Rose Alaimo brought her magic by being my awesome backup singer. This song is truely beautiful. Listening to it on Spotify, it's part of the Hey Rose EP.

Angel From Montgomery

This is an old John Prine song I actually first heard covered by John Denver on his Farewell Andromeda album (1973). It's also been done (most famously) by Bonnie Raitt, Susan Tedeschi, and probably many others. The lyrics are from an older woman's viewpoint but it's one that has always stuck with me for some reason and has e
