Richmond Lodge was a substantial mansion built c.1798 and later extended in the Victorian era, on the site of which now stands the Knocknagoney housing estate.

The wisteria this year isn't as spectacular as usual, some heavy snow this winter gave it a forced heavy pruning which greatly reduced its extent. Even as it is however it is a wonderful thing, buzzing with insect life and the most heavenly perfume.

Doors at Homestall Manor, West Sussex. The main entry door is said to be 1000 years old and was brought from a monastery in France. Much extended, the house began as a farmhouse and served as a hunting lodge for John of Gaunt, son of Edward III, as early as 1350. It would make a lovely home and has great entertaining spaces. Interested? The guide price is a mere £10,000,000. Savills Country Department is handling the sale.
