When I was writing this poem I found myself searching for moments of quiet beauty in my life. The memory that surfaced was hiking in the forest and seeing moss like carpet by the riverside.
Now, thinking about it, I also remember moss growing by the drain in an old house, and how it was icky then.
Memories remind us that time is real.
