"All Tomorrow's Parties" by the British band "Japan" is another great cover version.
The original song by the Velvet Underground and Nico was written by Lou Reed and released on the group's 1967 debut studio album, "The Velvet Underground & Nico". Japan released this great version on their album "Quiet Life" in 1979

It's very funny and interesting to find a cover version of Rammstein's "Engel", performed by Landesjugendchor Vorarlberg (an Austrian choir including children in Dirndl). I really like this version and it's complex arrangement for acapella choir.

Musical Interlude: I love this one. Take a very familiar song and put it in a completely new context...and it works remarkably well. Don't laugh till you actually listen to this.

Finally, a little bit of crossover with #GenreOfTheWeek (bluegrass), taking the 1941 hit from Gene Autry and letting the Canadians release their cover version.

The Beatles released "Sgt. Pepper's Lonely Hearts Club Band" in 1967, and George Harrison contributed an Indian-devotional song that was recorded with Indian instruments.
Derek Trucks unwrapped the song onstage in September 2016 with the Tedeschi Trucks Band.

Everybody knows how Elvis Presley sings "Heartbreak Hotel", right? It's a song of heartbreak, sung bluesy in a voice that rocked an unprepared radio public.
Then John Cale released his version as a B-side to a promotional single "Dirty-assed Rock 'n' Roll", and you can see where this is going.
John Cale, "Heartbreak Hotel" (1975)

On Brian Eno's second solo release, 1974's "Taking Tiger Mountain (by Strategy)", an absolute bonker of track kicked off Side B of the LP.
Bauhaus covered it.

Nothing Else Matters - Miley Cyrus et al.

It couldn't be much more from the heart
Forever trusting who we are
And nothing else matters"

Acapella Metallica sounds great. How about some nice soothing Folk-style Gangsta Rap?
Nina Gordon cover of NWA's Straight Outta Compton
Voiceplay do amazing covers. I especially love it when they bring in Rachel Potter.
Yes @JAS_Ten_Regen Placebo's version of Running Up That Hill is intense but have you heard the version by Pub Choir? So joyful ❤️
For #MusicTuesday can you have
#CoverVersions without an acapella version of Nothing Else Matters as interpreted by VoicePlay.
They're not Metallica but it's worth a listen

Running Up That Hill - Placebo
"And if I only could
I'd make a deal with God
And I'd get him to swap our places
Be running up that road
Be running up that hill
Be running up that building"
Finishing off with this amazing (and very early at 1992) version
Tori Amos - Smells Like Teen Spirit (1992)
i'm going to start with my favourite cover of a Depeche Mode song 🖤
Stripped - Shiny Toy Guns
"Let me see you stripped
Down to the bone (let me hear you speaking just for me)
Let me see you stripped
Down to the bone (let me hear you crying just for me)"
