We now have to confront that #lockdown was and is an awful #framing because it implies locking someone up somewhere. It does not make any reference to shutting down non-essential industries or mobilizing other sectors (e.g. quarantine hotels) to help fight the #pandemic. Instead #lockdown leads to the insane conclusion that the only thing we can do is imprison people in their homes at night.

An alternative term which puts industry in the spot light is #shutdown. It clearly implies that all non-essential activity has to stop. At the same time it puts much less burden on private activity. No one would immediately think of "shutting down" two people walking in a park, for example.

Another alternative might be #covidaction / #CoronaEinsatz which implies that hotels etc should not just sit and wait but actually help out.
