Taking as its base the 17th Jan report by Airfinity at

The article below points to there currently being a 1,200,000 difference between the Airfinity projected death toll from COVID-19 in China, 1.3 million dead, and the official figure of <90,000 deaths.

Hope that the airfinity number is wildly off the mark. And I wonder about the actual variants active in China.

Did the CCP let COVID rip as punishment? Or out of fear of rioting?

With families reportedly having to sign that their member who died at home did not have COVID in order to get them cremated, and reportedly too doctors who want to list cause of death as COVID having to submit their decision to 2 layers of beauraucratic review before the death can be officually ascribed to COVID, the numbers of deaths that China is releasing seem very likely to be wild understatements.
