''On 5 Apr '23, the National IHR Focal Point for the #UK informed #WHO of an increase in severe #myocarditis in #neonates associated w/ #EV infection in #Wales. Between Jun '22 & Apr '23, 10 hospitalised neonates with a positive enterovirus PCR test were found to have myocarditis. 7 of 10 cases had further subtyping, with either #coxsackie B3 or coxsackie B4 identified. As of 5 May 2023, 1 patient was still hospitalised, and 1 had died.''
