Re-verified that I'm able to work #POTA stations in both CW and SSB.
Just figured out a trick. Leave #CQRLOG in "fldigi remote mode" and use the Potato app to control the rig's frequency via flrig. Then tell fldigi that your operating mode is SSB (hadn't noticed that was there before). Enter the info in the fldigi logging section (and not in CQRLOG) regardless of whether it's CW or SSB.
The logged QSOs from fldigi get ingested by CQRLOG. So you can let Potato & flrig control it all.
So I got an #RTSystems USB-63 cable from #DXEngineering and I've just run "./usbPortCheckerThingy.sh" in one shell window before plugging it in, and again in an adjacent shell window after, so I could see what to change in the #CQRLOG settings for #rigctl.
THE HOPE is that rigctl will use one cable, flrig will use the other, and they will peacefully coexist.

@on5zo: Only slightly dependent on your notion of "decent", there is no decent #contest #logging software available on Linux. That is something @vk6flab's applaudable initiative wants to change.
FWIW: #cqrlog works reasonably for phone and #MorseCode search+pounce, but not for Morse code running.
