Settling in with some nice #CrackingTheCryptic #sudoku

The Miracle Non-Sudoku: into a 9x9 grid place the digits 1-3 twice and the digits 4-6 once into each row, column, and box. Cells separated by a king’s move in chess cannot contain the same digit (which, foreshadowing, turns out to matter a lot). The cage sums to 25.

It’s a beautiful puzzle by Nahileon, and a lovely solve by #CrackingTheCryptic.

I did a bunch of (easy) #sudoku while I was offline, it's soothing.

I want to talk about my thoughts on Fog puzzles as they're getting popular. They seem intimidating but I highly recommend them for new solvers as they focus your attention very narrowly on a minimum set of clues to start. As you solve the puzzle unfolds with more clues, but if scanning is a challenge this makes it easier

Da lösen 2 Engländer Sudokus, da kann man die Augen schließen und zuhören, warum da wohl die 3 und nicht die 5 hinmuss, was thematisch ähnlich wie schäfchen zählen wirken kann. Wenn man aber zuguckt, werden dort wirklich weltklasse Rätsel gelöst! Manchmal schlafe ich zu einem Sudoku ein und schaue es am nächsten Tag nochmal, weils so interessant ist. Die laden jeden Tag 2 neue Sudokus hoch!

If you have even a passing interest in #sudoku, you owe it to yourself to develop a deeper interest, and preferably to do so before this campaign ends Friday.

I have the first volume from last year’s Kickstarter, and it is fantastic, but many of the puzzles are fiendishly difficult for me, so I haven’t finished them all. Also, the campaign hit a stretch goal for spiral binding, so I’ve upgraded my pledge this time around to get a reprint of that first volume that can lay flat on a table more easily.

I don’t get anything out of this pitch, I just love the YouTube channel, love the first book, and want to see Simon and Mark continue to succeed.
