Saw a post about how since universities' researchers understand risks/damage of Covid, the institutions should embrace taking steps to mitigate. This take makes sense if you think universities are engines of knowledge production, and not, say, real estate funds with customer service enterprises on the side.

Unfortunately, I think a lot of our administrators need us smiling, unmasked, to welcome students paying tuition, more than they need us thinking. We're disposable. #cranky

It seems that most times I’m out and about these days, I hear #music I grew up with. It’s roughly late #80s and #90s through the early naughts. I find myself in a #GoodMood and often singing along and sometimes even doing a little #dance.
Then it occurs to me that it’s a #marketing thing and that someone is trying to #influence my mood so that I spend #money. This makes me #cranky, feel old, and as a direct result I don’t spend any money.
