Are there any #Supernatural fans on #Fedi?
At least, fans up until it went really #crappy.
But I love that show. I don't see many posts about it.
I might give it a rewatch.
That episode where Keiko OBrien's body is possessed by some ghost from Bajor is a fairly #crappy episode.
Miles OBrien: My wife's been taken hostage! I must meet all it's demands and put the entire station and everybody on it at risk to, um, try to save my wife ...
Also the conclusion was very predictable.
The #SexyKira episodes of #DS9 are examples of shit multiverse shit. I watched the second one where:
🖖 Sisko pretends to be his alter ego perfectly without ever meeting him
🖖 They all kiss each other passionately without hesitation - for some reason ...
🖖 Miles, who was previously a slave miner, is now all technical
🖖 Sisko's wife was describes as 'not gentle' yet was nice.
🖖 It involves characters being antagonistic/threatening to other selves without any signs of hesitation
Just #crappy

To the face from me to you
Won't you say you block me too?
(Sung to the tune of Barney's "I Love You".)
Yeah, someone spammed me this morning with #crypto #crap. I #reported them and blocked them.

Worst mechanical design ever for a broom. Cheap plastic with no structural strength at the highest point of stress. Temporary fix to eye out more lifetime, but don't recommend these (no, I did not buy this in the first place) #crappy #broom #consumerism #ThrowAway

I like the look of old #comics, like from 1950s-1980s or something.
They kinda look crappy and I like that.
Looking through my old cameras, I came across a #crappy little #Canon PowerShot A460. I love #lofiphotography and especially the effects of a damaged sensor. #CanonPowerShot #A460 #lofi #crappycam #photo #lofiphoto

Let's talk about #crappy responses to a #SAR (data subject access request).
Today, I was reviewing a DPA for a client. The sub-proc they wanted to jump into bed with is one of those email verification services that purport to tell you if an email is good or bad.
Anyway, their DPA was... not great, but it's a US company, the risk is low, and I was mostly fine with it. My only real nagging issue was that in their DPA, they didn't spell out a retention period, and they processed not just the email address, but also the name, gender, city, state, country and IP of every email you provided.
Naturally, I asked why. And for giggles, I asked the sub-proc for any data they had on me tied to 5 email addresses (they do email verification, and this was a backdoor way of seeing if they retained email information). It was pretty boilerplate, but to save myself the hassle, I included all the email addresses in one go. I also asked for the other details controllers are supposed to provide under Art. 15(1).
So tonight, I receive this in response, and ... let's just say, now I'm writing this post:
Dear Carey,
Thank you for contacting [REDACTED]. I am writing in response to your request dated 28.11.2022.
Within your request you asked us to provide details about the information [REDACTED] has collected and/or stored with regards to your name - Carey Lening or the email address carey.lening@[EMAILADDRESS].
I am pleased to inform you that this request is now complete, and based on our internal search, I can confirm we did not find any information linked to the above-mentioned data indicators to be stored on our systems.
Unfortunately I am unable to disclose other information related to other email addresses, for which you would have to send a request originating from each account separately.
Kind regards,
----
Now, all of my emails were variations of carey.lening@
or carey@. One was even the carey@ version of the work address I sent the original email from! I appreciate #verification as much as the next DPO, and while I could have also conceded on the carey@ alias (especially b/c that email wasn't related to my work email), this guy was clearly just playing games to play games. There are quite literally, two Carey Lening's on the planet.
He also didn't include any answers to the remaining Art. 15(1) requests, and just declared the matter done regardless.
But naturally, being the good DPO I am, I played his silly game, and sent the exact, identical request 4 more times, including all the Article 15(1) details, even from the carey@ version of my work email.
Sure he's going to call this repetitive under Art. 12, but I'm going to point out that I was doing exactly what he asked...
This #Thanksgiving, I'm grateful for the fact that #Thankskilling is only 70 minutes long because if it was much longer, I'd be fathering children with twelve fingers.

mas.to is proving to be a good instance.
I hope it don't go #crappy like those other instances.
