Very excited to be working on this new #creativecollaboration project with Big Telly Theatre Co, NatCen, and my colleagues at #MMU. We're looking at mourning, commemoration and technology. Check it out! https://www.culturalvalue.org.uk/collaborate-fund-meet-the-new-cohort/
There can be a lot of misconceptions out there about what editors do and how we work with your writing.
I'm here to reassure you: good editors listen, we understand – and above all, respect the fact that it's YOUR book.
This and much more in my guest piece for Prolifiko 👇

Wow, a short #introduction is hard
I grew up in the English Midlands and my family have been there for years, except for the branch that came from the Welsh side of the border, Radnorshire.
Mostly I think about #CreativeCollaboration and how it helps people to connect and support each other in community. I try to do that through actually practicing collaboration, especially in spaces where competition and individualism are the norm. Much of my work is using #OST - Open Space Technology.
I've always been a musician. My dad played trumpet (mostly in an Armstrong style with traditional bands) and that New Orleans style jazz is hard to wash out. I sing and play ukulele (and uke banjo if in a rhythm section).
I trained at the Guildford School of Acting (Class of '87) but also have a BSc in Computing & IT from University of Surrey (1996)
What I didn't know until a couple of years ago is that I have #ADHD - which in retrospect explains the careering nature of my career and my ability to forget large chunks of it.
My longest job was about eight years creating information systems for people evaluating public services at the Audit Commission, but I did lots of things that were basically telling stories or expressing ideas through data and information.
My blog has been at https://perfectpath.co.uk since 2004 - much neglected of late. I was one of the few who managed to produce a podcast in 2004.
In 2007 a weird mix of friends, technology and interests inspired me to make a space in London for people interested in stuff to get together regularly. The #TuttleClub or London Social Media Café met most Friday mornings for the next 10 or 11 years and has made little come backs from time to time, but rarely in person these days.
At #Tuttle, I met Brian Condon who was working on prototyping a "science park for the creative industries" for the University of London which he managed to pull off in 2010 opening the Centre for Creative Collaboration #c4cc and appointing me Social Artist in Residence.
I moved back to #Guildford in 2017 and just before the pandemic hit, I slid into a part-time role with Guildford URC helping them focus their community outreach on loneliness and social isolation.
