Blimey, end of the year and the last crafty thing from 2022.
Not something I made, but rather an activity I planned for 24 children - making Christmas decorations. Loads of fun to do with them. Even managed to do the dreaded origami!

I made my mum a crochet shawl as a Christmas present. I added a couple more rows onto after this picture was taken, but you get the idea.
This shawl also managed to get a bit part in my work’s end of year video.

I love to crochet, but I have always tended to use aran weight yarn or heavier. Not sure why - I guess it just feels right to me. However in October I decided to go small and got myself some tiny hooks.

In September I did some needle felting and made a moth. Stabby-stabby-ouch-ouch! #CreativeYear #september #NeedleFelting

In August (yes it was warm) I played around with crochet square ideas for a blanket. It didn’t get anyway, but they made nice coasters! #CreativeYear #August #crochet

I normally make more Linocuts, but this year was focused on other things. But in July I made this one. #CreativeYear #craft #Linocut #print

Back in June it was all about book nooks. This one was inspired by Holdstock’s The Hollowing. #CreativeYear #June #craft
The sewing machine got dusted off and brought down from the attic in May. I made four messenger bags in various colours and sizes, but this was my favourite. #CreativeYear #May #craft #sewing

In April I made Littlest a (very) small cottage. With the exception of the glass bottles it was all made from scratch. #CreativeYear #April #craft #minature

Onto March, and more leather things. This time I made a little crochet hook case and scissor, stitch marker and yarn needle case. The latter is probably the most useful thing I’ve made. It even has an abacus style stitch counter. #CreativeYear #March #craft
Next up February. I wanted to make a music box with an added shadow theatre element. There was much faffing to try and diffuse the LED (I think I ended up mounting it in a milk bottle lid wrapped in baking parchment). Sound on. 🔊 #CreativeYear #february #craft

In January 2022 I made Mr. CP a new wallet. It was my first attempt at making something out of leather. #CreativeYear #January
In December starting on the 20th, I’ll be sharing a favourite thing I’ve made in each month of 2022 (20th = January, 21st = February, 22nd = March etc. ). Now, I suspect I’ll be alone in doing this (that’s ok - it’s a nice thing I like to do), but if anyone wants to join in, I’ll be using the hashtag #CreativeYear and a hashtag for the month.
