It seems like getting one's annual credit report via annualcreditreport.com/ is pretty broken. I've ended up creating accounts with the Big Three, which seems viable so far.

Bypassed Security to View
could trick Experian website into allowing them access to any user’s credit report simply by editing the address in the browser URL bar during the verification process

Just a friendly reminder:

Credit report freezes, locks and fraud alerts are awesome, and they are free! All three credit report agencies offer these (or a combination of these) services.

I temporarily unlocked my reports yesterday to finance the car. Even still, I received texts, emails and phone calls from the credit agencies, to notify and verify that it was me requesting this loan.

It's a relief to see the protections work the way they are supposed to.

I've never run for political office, but aren't candidates required to sign financial disclosures and other paperwork that declares to be the truth just above their signature? Is it just me, or do others agree that candidates who lie on the filing forms should be disqualified from having their names appear on the ballot? (This sentence sounds weird) Anyway. Do the respective secretaries of state have any responsibility for vetting candidates?

The Information Society is a that ran on PBS (in the USA) decades ago (1980? or 1979). There are parts of it still relevant today and the others where predicted and came to be. It runs just under an hour. Thanks to the filmmaker for republishing it!
