This afternoon’s dog walk was tricky as large parts of where we wanted to go were flooded, much of it 4ft deep. This bit was where we finally said ‘sod it’ and turned back, as my 22yo Dr Martens are starting to let in water! #CretanHound #rescueismyfavoitebreed #dog

Just back from a wintery off-leash walk with Stanley (the #CretanHound #RescueDog). Boy was it icy. It was almost like I was back living in #Colorado again.
We met a very nervous rescue dog, got his appalling life story from the new owner, and Stanley set about calming the dog down and showing him how to play.
He’s so good at helping other dogs. Recently he saw a doggy friend struggling to get up a riverbank, leaned over and pulled her up by her harness in his mouth.

Stanley has just done that dog thing of puking up his dinner, looking at it, then enthusiastically re-eating it all.
