The worst thing is that Musk’s fans cheered on his callous and cruel responses to Halli Thorleifsson, who just wanted to know if he’d been laid off. I was reminded of an observation: we say people today are soft and sentimental, but it’s often those same people — especially the chair-bound geek variant — who idolize brutality.
