@dharmadischarge Exactly. I cringed so hard at "monetizing" and "heartfelt." But I don't think that was #CringeCore.

I saw that #CoreCore is a thing now and I had to lie down while decomposing.

@bjornlarssen I think when people call something cringe the really mean it does not meet our picturesque image of what we think life should be.

Though I do agree completely that "monetizing" and "heartfelt" in the same sentence seems more like what we traditionally associate with "cringe"

I tried to start #CringeCore on tumblr a few years ago. Though that was leaning into authenticity as a mode of expression.

So my current view is that capitalism by existing infuses beauty with cringe.
