@flexghost Eight states plus Washington, DC, have "all mail voting" (aka, vote by mail or vote at home). It's pretty hard to keep up the facade that there's a problem with allowing *everyone* to vote by mail, not just disabled folks.
And by the way, vote by mail is not accessible to all disabled folks. Voters with certain disabilities need other accessible methods. One size does *not* fit all.

RT @Sblahov: The D in ADA stands for disability. The ADA protects:
- Disabled people
- People with a history of being disabled
- People perceived as being disabled
It is harmful and inaccurate to claim that it protects everyone. #CripTheVote #DisabilityTwitter https://t.co/XLfV4SmFIc

The local disparities in voting accessibility are only being widened by the new voter ID law and itâs bullshit #CripTheVote
I was not asked to remove my mask when they checked my ID at the polling station today, but Iâve seen tweets where someone was asked to remove theirs for the check, and someone who was turned away completely because they couldnât remove theirs #CripTheVote

Recently, @nealcarter and I shared that we are starting Disability Victory, a 501(c)4 dedicated to building the political power of disabled progressives through training, networking, and leadership development.

From her post on twitter:
"My first piece is about the Medicaid unwinding process starting 4/1 when states will resume annual redetermination processes for all enrollees which could result in millions losing their coverage"

@JEkis Argh! đ So frustrating!
Adding some hashtags, hoping to find more folks on Mastodon that care about these issues. I miss the folks on the bird site who used to post about this type of thing.

Important new decision: The ADA is enforced through private causes of action. Yet plaintiffs often are stigmatized as drive-by serial litigants. In Langer v. Milan Kiser, the 9th Circuit decided that a court cannot rely on Plaintiff's litigation history to question their credibility. https://www.law360.com/hospitality/articles/1568413/9th-circ-revives-serial-litigant-s-ada-suit-over-shop-access

Members of the dramatic jury at Sundance, that includes Oscar winner Deaf actress Marlee Matlin, decided to collectively walk out of the film as it began after a caption device provided to Matlin didnât work. This is just three years after Crip Camp played the festival's opening night. I guess Sundance's commitment to accessibility & equality if often just lip service.
