I've only been #crocheting for 10 months and this is the first little blanket I made out of charity shop yarn. Fits in well with Mexican/Indian-style office/basement! Now I've found my true love in #freeformcrochet but thought I'd share my journey one project at a time.

Good morning everyone. I'm currently waiting for Ziggy to go into her cage for breakfast. I do have a work meeting this afternoon, but apart from that definitely a #crochetday, yay! I'll be working on a doll of a little girl in a big bad wolf outfit. I've crocheted the body and limbs already so I just need to sew them together and then start working on the clothes. Good morning everyone. Ziggy was really enjoying cuddle time this morning, she was actually making purring noises like a cat. 😊 Grant has hurt his back and she's picking up on his pain and grumpiness and was blaming Jadie for it last night, running and chasing her every time she got near, so Jadie and I had cuddles for a bit (as much as I am allowed to cuddle Jadie before the inevitable nip). #parrots #petsofmastodon #birdsofmastodon

Another #crochetday for me today. I finished the one toy yesterday eventually. It took longer than I had planned, but there were so many small parts to it that I kept finding a new bit to do - the child who drew it is only four and likes lots of colours and shapes 😊. I continued working on the second #toy and should hopefully come close to finishing that one today. #crochet #crocheting

I am now ready to watch Guardians of the Galaxy as the next film in my MCUathon.

Good morning everyone. Up early with the birds this morning and the #parrots are busy munching contentedly as we speak. Ziggy has decided, for now at least, that food is more important than mischief, so she is popping straight into the cage each morning without the usual fight. I've noticed that she will eat for a bit, then say "Hmm!" as though she has just had an idea, and head over for a drink of water. Her water bowl is near Jadie's food bowl, so Jadie then says "What's up?" each time Ziggy gets near ☺️#petsofmastodon #birdsofmastodon

A full on #crochetday today for me. The grandsons are here, but they mostly keep themselves occupied these days. They are currently into Magic the Gathering card games as well as table top D & D. As an old roleplayer myself, that makes me happy 😊 I will finish one #crochet kids' toy today finally. I just have one thing left to sew, and then on to the second. I'm on Thor, the Dark World in my MCUathon now.

Good morning everyone. Happy to report empty traps again this morning and no other signs of mice in the house. Today we'll repair some small holes in the outside wall we found just in case that was their ingress point. It's looking like a dry day so far so should be good for it.

Ziggy is still very cuddly at the moment, although I am convinced she thinks my right hand is her boyfriend as she keeps trying to back up onto it. I was hoping for a #crochetday today, but the madness of work from yesterday has spilled over into a couple of meetings I need to attend this morning, so I need to get them out of the way first. Good morning everyone. I didn't post earlier as I was out doing a mouse run to a nearby park 🙂 We set two traps overnight, but only one has a mouse in it this morning so here's hoping we are getting to the end of this. I'm fairly confident now that we have cleared the mice from the living room after moving everything and cleaning thoroughly, but there are signs this mouse came from behind one of my yarn shelves, so this morning will be spent clearing them all out and trying to find their second hiding place. Due to mouse cleaning I didn't have a #crochetday yesterday, and it looks like today may be a busy as well, but hopefully after all of this we can get back to normal. Amazing how much trouble those little scamp's can cause! 🙂

Good morning everyone. Grant got up for the birds today, but I had to get up to help, because he had another mouse to take away. In fact, we have removed another three 😳. I thought we had caught them all yesterday, but apparently not. More furniture moving today to try to find out where they are hiding out, and importantly where the heck they are getting in! We may need to call in a professional to help us find their route in if we can't find it.

I might take a break from #crochet today and do a bit of doodling. I'm still playing with the marker pens and getting the hang of them. #doodle #art. On the other hand, I have decided to watch the MCU films from the beginning and started with Iron Man yesterday, so I might have a #crochetday again after all 🙂

We caught the second mouse last night! Then we briefly let him go again due to the catch on the trap door having broken, but luckily managed to re-catch him. He has now been taken to the same field as the first so hopefully they meet up again. We'll put the trap out again tonight and for a few more just in case. We still don't know how they got in though.

Another #crochetday for me. Yay! 😁 The yarn I ordered for the second #crochet #toy order arrived yesterday surprisingly fast, so I may take a wee break from the first and make a start on that today.

Good morning everyone. I realised I *still* haven't posted any #crochet pics. I'm going to aim for today, but not make any more promises the way things have been going as Time is a thief right enough! One I want to show you has people in it so I need to alter it to keep their faces hidden.

The new trap worked and we caught a wee mouse this morning and released it into a nearby park, but after Grant got back to sort out the birds he noticed another one poking from behind the couch! Also, when he released the mouse the spring on the door latch of the trap fell off. He managed to retrieve it, so hopefully we can fix it and reset the trap tonight, 'cos if there are two then goodness know how many more there may be 😳

Another #crochetday today. I'm waiting on some yarn to start the second #toy, but with the holidays it probably won't arrive till next week, so I'll concentrate on finishing the first one up over the weekend.

Good morning everyone. I've been offline for a couple of days due to the crazy work schedule, so not much time for anything else other than some #parrot playtime. Luckily I am now not working until next week.

Our mouse hasn't been caught yet. The trap I bought is defective. This means we have just been feeding our mouse yummy peanut butter for the last two nights and I'm sure he's very grateful for that ☺️ I have ordered another trap, which hopefully will work and do the trick. The upside is that the wee scamp is now used to going into the trap so should hopefully be caught quickly if this one works.

It's a #crochetday. Yay! I have two orders to work on now so back to being busy again. I will definitely post pictures of finished makes later as I keep promising. The tale of the two kids' drawings turns out to be quite lovely. More of that later.

Good morning everyone. I am currently waiting for Ziggy to go into her cage after spending some time exchanging kisses with her as she sat on the door and getting lots of "I love you"s. I must be in her good books this morning 😊. Jadie tries to join in too with her rendition of kisses which sounds like "pat-cha!" It's amazing how the two #parrots, having grown up in different households, have different languages. Ziggy and Frodo, the wee boy I lost, grew up together and spoke the same "language". #petsofmastodon #birdsofmastodon

I forgot to post a photo of those #crochet dolls again (brain like a sieve 😂), but the lady who ordered the rainbow spiders contacted me to say she has them now , so I will do a double post later I think.

Good morning everyone. Grant got up for the #parrots this morning so I had a good long lie. Having my first coffee and trying to wake up now and get another #crochetday on the go. I do have a work meeting this afternoon, but it shouldn't take too long hopefully.

One of the #crochet kids drawing toys is finished, but I don't like how her face looks so I may have to do bits of it again. I'll finish the other one first and then go back and have another look at the eyes and see if I need to redo them.

Ziggy went in with no bother this morning after a lot of early morning cuddles so no shenanigans to report today ☺️ Jadie has just calmed down after I quickly left the room to get my coffee. She gets upset when I am not there when she wants to eat her breakfast and yell at me until come back. She used to belong to a man and she cries out "Oh Dada" in the most plaintive voice. Good morning everyone. Ziggy has been sent to her cage earlier today, because she has been plucking and bit me on the face when she hurt herself as it is obviously my fault 🧐 Jadie wasn't up for getting up this morning until I took her cover fully off and put the light on. She has a grass activity wall at the back of the cage near her sleeping perch and she has taken to squishing herself behind it so it half covers her. I think this gives her some security and comfort and she was tucked away behind it. #parrots #petsofmastodon #birdsofmastodon

I'll be waiting for the weekly shop to be delivered this morning (it seems to get more expensive each week!) and then another #crochetday for me. I started watching Stranger Things from the beginning again before finally getting around to Season Four so enjoying that while I #crochet .

Good morning lovely people. My goodness, but it is really starting to get light noticeably earlier now. And the bird song starts up a lot sooner. Spring is definitely on its way!

This morning I have had my face preened thoroughly by Ziggy, who has been so determined to give me the treatment that trying to avoid her sharp little beak simply resulted in a nip to the ear 😊 Another thing that can result in an ear nip is trying to do anything on my mobile phone while she is out, because of course all attention should be focussed on her! She knows just how much pressure to apply without breaking the skin too. Little bossy boots 😊

This morning I am off to the post office to send the rainbow spiders to their new home and then I will be working on the snake and the two kids' drawing #crochet toys, so it's another #crochetday for me. Yay!
