Naztazia has some good crochet tips.
And she doesn’t waste your time with fluff.

Can anyone recommend what is actually useful to a crochet beginner? I have ADHD and tend to abandon new hobbies, starting small is probably best. Do I really need anything besides a needle or two and yarn? And which style of needle would you recommend?
Thanks!

I’m using a 25 mm hook and 2 inch strips. Never used anything like this. Worried about tension.

Tomorrow I start cutting my batch of old tshirts into strips for my first crocheted rug. 🤞🏽

When bringing a secondary color behind a primary color, tuck the secondary color under every other stitch to reduce the showthrough.

The back/inside of the work will show the carried yarn more using the alternating method, so it's up to you to decide when to use the technique. A stuffed animal could be a better choice than a bedspread.

In my case, a hat for a child who won't mind the more visible threads inside, but who might not like the showthrough without this method.

This is probably common knowledge/practice, but as a beginner at I thought I'd share my tip for threading yarn onto a needle to weave in ends: dental floss threaders!

I've already found it really helpful for thick and fluffy yarns like chenille or plied yarn that wants to split.

I've used this trick for years after finding normal threaders so poor quality these days that they break on the first use.
