Cliff top walk near #Cromer #norfolk

Well, in the end we saw the European Bee Eaters through the #RSPB provided scopes - and jolly pretty they were too. I could just about see the colours using my cheap binoculars.

We've spent the rest of the afternoon sitting on top of the cliffs in Overstrand (café as well - huge chunks of cake).

Now - we're back in #Cromer for fish & chips.

Mrs Mike is drugged up on too many pain killers and no longer cares about her back pain but says her chips are super.

What a life!

We had a great day #today in #Cromer - the threatened rain never happened.

It was very blowy at the end of the pier, and we decided to dispense with tradition and eat in the pier head restaurant. I had a fish finger sandwich (not fish & finger you smutty minded person) - jolly good it was too.

We walked slowly back, broken by a doze on the grass in the hot sun while Mrs Mike caught up on her reading.

It's steady rain here #today on the north #norfolk coast.

The cottage we're staying in is very nice, and well equipped. It's peaceful despite being close to a main road.

We've had toast, marmalade & coffee. When Mrs Mike gets back from her swim we'll have porridge to fuel us for the day.

Despite the #rain, we intend walking into #Cromer - guess who forgot his shaving kit?

The plan for #today is somewhat different from the usual

I've packed my clothes already, so Mrs Mike has to do the same.

We'll then drop off several bags of #allotment gooseberries to her gym friends before heading East on the A47

#Cromer here we come!

Now that the dust has settled on the #AustroHungarianAdventure we are looking forward to a few days in #Cromer next month, and going back to #Belgium later in the year for a week.
