Dear #CrossBorderRail bubble, how illegal is SJ's practice of preventing non-residents of Sweden from filling out a passenger's rights form? (And: Any idea how I can access these passengers' rights?)

Just crossed the border from #Germany to #Denmark where #Shengen has recently been suspended. Lots of border guards got on the train at #Padborg, as far as I could tell they checked everyone's passport (it was a train with compartments). But we only left about 5 minutes late, and reached the next station, #Kolding, on time.

#Trains used to be known for their extreme punctuality, because lives depended on avoiding collisions on the tracks. With #technology today, that should make them MORE reliable and timely, not less.

My wife is traveling today ( #Austria > #Germany) and only AFTER she gets to the departure station, minutes before her first scheduled leg, is she emailed that there is an hour delay with no alternative routes available.

There's no excuse.

Sad non-success #CrossBorderRail from where my relatives live. The rail line between Hodoš (Slovenia) and Őriszentpéter (Hungary) was abandoned in the 80s, rebuilt in the 2000s (225 million EUR, financed by the two countries). It was electrified, the course “straightened” for up to 160km/h, new stations built in 2015. The electrification partially funded by the EU has cost 27 million EUR.

Today, it has one train daily between Budapest and Ljubjana and a dozen commuter trains. #trains #hungary

I'm currently looking into something as simple as a Barcelona-Carcasonne #CrossBorderRail trip. I see now why @jon is going on and on about this. It's way too expensive and complicated to deal with.

Today 🇪🇺 it is more united, no more borders or passport controls between Slovenia and Croatia. During my trip last year, the departure of the train was delayed due to passport control. Today that will never happen. And welcome to the Euro 🥳 Croatian friends 🇭🇷 Sretna Nova godina! #CrossBorderRail
