These engineers are really car brained. Here they removed the continuous sidewalk across the Stop & Shop entrance and didn’t even put in a crosswalk. Apparently arrows are more important than a safe place for people to walk. (This is from the latest version of the Shank Painter Road plans that I just got late yesterday.)

Hey there & brain trust:

The NE leg of this intersection has a signalized w/ beg button. Town staff just converted it to rest-in-walk, which is lovely. But there's a permissive yellow that allows drivers from the arterial to turn left while the sign is active.

We may have the option to* either*:

* keep the rest-in-walk
or
* eliminate the permissive yellow but lose the rest-in-walk

Of course, the irony here is that the , the and all offer clues to a piece of the solution. Improved to support . In the post 1 if you look down the sidewalk you can see a utility pole right in the middle of it. In post #2 in the foreground, you can see it simply ends in a dirt trail. In post #3, at least there is a , but there are no protected .

I created this a year ago to help address the ridiculous conditions US impose on . This is a 2-stage crossing on the way to my kid's elementary school. Complying with the signal here means a 3-minute crossing, including a substantial wait in an unprotected refuge island.
