Don't worry, she got some after I took the picture.
This morning was fun but a bit frustrating. Mr. Crow seemed willing to come closer to me, but we were constantly disturbed, so he flew to trees and back the street constantly and that was not the right condition for this.

I pulled out the car on the curb this morning (usually the signal for the crows to come if they're nearby). I put the kids' schoolbags in the car and looked up (the usual routine). No #crows. The kids were not ready yet, so I decided to go for a mini-two-minute walk in the park when I suddenly heard a loud cawing above me. Mr. Crow was literally calling me!

Just a sketch tonight while I recover from a couple very busy days at work. This is Kyte, a modern-day karasu-tengu descendant. He works at a small indie repair shop mending appliances, and his experiences at work have gotten him believing in a flavor of animism themed around a being he decided to name Denjin, God of Electronics. He hasn't convinced anyone else of Denjin's existence, but saying prayers to him/her/it seems to make the repairs go smoother.

This morning the crows were not near the park, so I brought the kids to school and started my day.
A couple of hours later, I had to stop home real quick. As I drove off and around the park, one of the crows showed up, flew toward me and as low as possible near the car (while remaining safe), and perched on a cable. As if to say "Hey, I'm here! Don't forget me." I had no time to stop, but luckily I had peanuts in the car, so I dropped one and left.

As it's been low tide in the morning, and we're near the equinox (so tides are bigger), I assume that they've been feasting seafood in the estuary in the mornings.
However, this morning, they were here, so time to resume old habits.
(for a second, I thought it was a large-billed crow, but no, it was Mr. Crow, I guess he's molting so much that he looks skinnier and his beak looks bigger?)

Remember how this summer, as it's been too hot for everyone to hang out in the park (and to help them find the water I left in my yard) I left the usual peanuts in a small plastic plate in my yard and about two weeks ago, the plate was missing when I got home and I found it in the park near where I usually feed them?
