Today was my third day of bringing treats out for the crows in the neighborhood. I was able to attract about THIRTY crows by throwing a tiny handful of peanuts down in front of one crow in a tree, who then called over all his buddies.

They still don't trust me enough to eat in front of me though. I had to walk a good ways away before they would come down to the ground.

It might seem a simple thing but for years I’ve been trying to get the crows to notice me and know that I have treats for them and that they are welcome in my yard.
Today....for whatever reason......I was Blessed with a visit.
I hope it’s the first of many. (and probably many peanuts!)
I can’t tell you how unreasonably happy this made me. 🥰
They’re still a bit skittish and the squirrels try to chase them off, but when they get more comfortable there’ll be raw liver on the menu. 🌿☺️💜🌿

Befriending crows is a wonderful thing.

I have many crow friends at home and at work. They bring joy at unexpected moments and can rescue a miserable day even without shaking down the dust of snow that Robert Frost described.
