Baldur's Gate 3 is awesome, still in act 1 though after 25 hours. Killed the phase spider at level 4 on Tactician without cheesing the encounter. Felt really great once I did it

Interesting new #cRPG #cRPGs release that mixes #Ultima and #scifi to give you an entire galaxy to explore. There was a prototype of this game released in english a couple of years ago but this is the first release of the re-developed full version in english

Why does it bother me? Because the items are usually narratively cool, but usually, you find better stuff in less than a couple of hours 🙁

Not quite 100 total hours play after several false starts with mostly blind play--either finding I wasn't enjoying the character I'd made, or a couple TPKs I wasn't enjoying the character *enough* to reload from save.
Currently 6th-level/1st-Mythic human Hunter with a bad-ass leopard companion.
Having a blast.

Apart from 2 sessions DSA 25 years ago my rpging had been relegated to #crpgs simply because I never got off my ass to just try some more #pnprpg.
No more! 4 friends and I will play the #enemywithin campaign in #wfrp4e using #foundryvtt. Had our session 0, character generation session, and I've just now received the first char background thoughts.
With 4 #wfrp podcasts and 0 actual experience under my belt I'll obviously be a perfect #gm and nothing can go wrong...!

It's interesting that I find myself having to mentally put myself back in that period and resist the urge to open up a web browser and look for clues whenever I get a bit stuck. The internet has made me weak!

Interplay's #Stonekeep has a brilliant box design: a dungeon door crowded by skeletal holograms. Imagine my sorrow when I discovered my copy had been crushed, perhaps because the holographic budget required using the thinnest cardboard ever invented. As one does, I've held a small funeral, with several other blobbers paying respects to their fallen friend. May she rest peacefully in the great grid-paper notebook in the sky.
In better news, the clothbound novella, Thera Awakening, is in mint condition! This is all the more surprising given that I read it often as a child, when for a period it was one of my favourite books (seriously) I remember this having a much more thrilling storyline than the game proper... something about bloodsucking hell-wasps. Scared me senseless. I've opened to a relevant page, using a weird claw grip to avoid bending the spine. Enjoy!
(Also, I'm going to say it: #AnvilOfDawn was better.)

Found a leprechaun who’ll teleport me to other cities so I did that complete a quest - which is probably going to end up as a “visit every city” quest. Party just hit level five as a whole, which seriously opens up the world since my sorcerer can now cast fly which is basically a teleport to any sector spell. #retrogaming #retrogaming #appleii #crpgs

As much as I want to get on to 1980, I’m hopping back into the time machine again to 1976, to play The Dungeon (aka pedit5), the earliest surviving computer #RPG. The Dungeon inspired ‘dnd’, which inspired Moria, which inspired Oubliette, which inspired Wizardry, which inspired… well, the much of the genre of Western and #JRPGs.
The Dungeon was originally on the PLATO mainframe network, and today is playable on cyber1.org. #retrogaming #crpgs
