I finished Earthworm Jim 2 and it's definitely better than the first one. Better designed levels and the gimmicks aren't so annoying. The last level felt kind of unfair but not in an insurmountable way. Also, this is the first game I played with my new RGB SCART cable hooked up to my #SNES and it's gorgeous. The colours are bright and clear and the photo doesn't do it justice. #crtgaming

This is super niche, but someone is now selling adapters for JVC CRTs that used their proprietary 7-pin S-Video connector. Now my cheapest, worst "pro" video monitor can actually be kinda good!

As a new Sega Saturn owner / player, I've really enjoyed picking up a few Japanese import games at my local retro game shop (the amazing Experience Share in Alameda, California) - the import titles are fun, come in standard-sized CD cases, and have been significantly less expensive than US releases.

Anyone have recommendations for English-friendly Saturn games I should be looking for?

What I've also found is that through a CRT filter or on an actual CRT, either way--color banding due to lack of colors is significantly less noticeable when actually playing, even if you happen to be using visuals more akin to RGB / Component YPbPr.

It doesn't really come across in a picture, though. But I think it's noticeable in practice with games that use color gradients in their backgrounds like this. You don't always need the blur of a low quality signal.
