@philbetts The point of #ORMs is more about making it easy to do persistent #CRUD operations on #Python data. They obfuscate #SQL, and can make badly-performing queries, but they don’t eliminate the need to know SQL to make them work well. Better to learn SQL first before diving into ORMs unless your database is really simple.

Hi there. Saw you mention "CRUD" in relation to AS/AP a couple times, and think that may need more nuance.

You can do #CRUD with the #ActivityStreams social primitives, yet #ActivityPub is more like an actor-based messaging protocol with likeness to an event-driven distributed architecture.

AP has a comprehensive, small API and transport protocol, and a "core vocab" in the form of AS. #LinkedData allows vocab extension with semantically meaningful Activities.
