#solottrpg can also be good way to try a new set of rules. I am kind of a compulsive collector of rules, always looking for the "perfect" set.
No such thing exists. Probably.
It comes down to degree of #crunch, character creation time, and how many genres you want to play without changing rules.
I would happily share my opinions and my progress.

Realistic answer: Depends on company, management style, planning prowess or absence thereof, external influences, and many more - and can conceivably last months. 🙃 (Hope it won't in your case!)

The dumbest example is STILL #Cyberpunk2077 where you literally do not have access to the open world and 90% of the gameplay until AFTER you find out you will "absolutely certainly die in two weeks".
I guess I have to blame the idiotic writing on the #Crunch the devs forced everyone thru?

This is not good.
But at the moment I'm just sad and tired and can't suppress the urge to do some fun things in the limited free time between bringing the child to bed and going to restless sleep. No lifeforce left for the cushion.

Its taken about a week for me to really think about something other than the current project with any seriousness, I feel the mental fatigue more than I used to. I think I have some thoughts on this unhealthy crunch time we do in software but it might need a couple more days to cook. Oh and hey it's spring! #coding #crunch
