So much world still to discover. In this fascinating publication, Natasha Dudek with others in David Relman lab together with Wah Chiu lab, Stanford University describe previously uncharacterised rectangular bacterial structures found in the mouths of bottle-nosed dolphins. They use a whole array of techniques, including #cryoem #cryoet. A timely reminder of how strange and unknown our #microbiomes remain!
