I loved #Seveneves and #Reamde. I enjoyed but was less excited by #Cryptonomicon.
Can anyone recommend another #NealStephenson book for me to read?

@Kencf618033 It is a rough abridgement one of several chapters or passages in #Cryptonomicon that could stand alone as essays or short stories. It leads the reader to wonder what the hell Stephenson is talking about until he explains that Amy's ability to help Randy understand himself reminds him of undergoing oral surgery.

Now, as he rides in the police car to his new private jail cell, Randy Waterhouse remembers the whole wisdom tooth saga because of its many points in common w/what he just went thru emotionally w/young America Shaftoe.

The lowers were so far back, removing them would practically break the jawbone…1 false move would send a surgical-steel demolition pick into his middle ear. The uppers' roots were twined around the parts of his brain responsible for perceiving the color blue & being able to suspend one's disbelief in bad movies.
