light boxes

some years ago i bought a light box to photograph transparent gems & crystals on

it did not go well because it turned out to be fluorescent & all kind of weird bands appear in the photos

i think i need instructions on how to make my own light box that's a box with a light on it that the stone can sit on

any good links or suggestions i'm all ears
