Entre la fin août et début septembre 1832, Darwin pêche à la nasse des Groseilles de mer #Cténophores qu'il classe à tort parmi le sous-embranchement des Tuniciers ou #Urochordés.

D'où provient cette erreur zoologique ? Des tâtonnements autodidactes du jeune géologue Darwin, certes, mais aussi du manque de connaissances zoologiques de son époque.
