Good news, everyone! Both #cubieboard 2 units boot, they were refusing because they are incredibly picky about booting with any sort of adapter on the HDMI out, or with old LCD panels.

My life may soon become #ultramobile. I may be laptop & desktop free for the first time in 20 years.

Ideas:

• My #cubieboard 2 + 500GB SSD + 802.11ac wifi dongle + dual-band antennas + RGB light strip + 12V supply + misc parts = portable low power accent light which is a web server & write-through cache of my cloud drive (aka a custom stealth #freedombone in a lamp)

• What if there were a non-sucky Android tablet that could also run a mainstream Linux distro on its display? Does that exist?

Does anybody know if hardware accelerated video decoding in #Armbian is tied to the particular desktop environment? The only image for my old #cubieboard 2 which has video acceleration is the xfce desktop image, but I was hoping to try some window managers I haven't used before. But I also wanna watch downloaded TV (I can stick to h264 if needed) and YouTube.
