Ella Sherman reminds us that, on the heels of a mass shooting in his state, as a dangerous storm moved across parts of Florida, DeSantis appeared preoccupied not with the damage the storm was doing and the harm it posed to people, but with scoring culture-war points and rattling sabers at prospective looters.
