Quickly following my Procreate sketch, I plucked up the courage to try a pencil version. This is my first ever proper sketch that's not from a tutorial.
Mainly using the previous sketch as the source, only referring to the photo to check a few details. The photo was from #CuratorPrompts #CuratorPrompts134

Trying out a sketch on Procreate
I cheated with the photo just visible in a layer, but the sketch is too complicated for me to try completely freehand.
I’m trying to simply the scene and get the values. It’s still difficult when trying to understand how the brushes work with pressure, angle etc.
I sometimes do this before painting to understand the scene.
It helps me learn.
Can I try a pencil & paper sketch next?

Inspired by today’s #CuratorPrompts #CuratorPrompts134 I painted this in an effort to get some painting practice in. I kept it painterly with less detail and I’m pleased with how it came out which is a nice way of saying I ran out of time when my daughter woke up.
